FAQs Frequently Asked Questions

Monofilament wigs, also known as mono top wigs, are a type of wig cap construction that is made with a fine layer of semi-transparent micro-mesh materials called mono silk and mono lace. Sometimes they are also constructed with a double mono base, adding even more comfort and security.

These thin bases cover the entire cap or are placed at the parting line or crown area to give a natural look, allowing durability, breathability, and comfort. The cap of these hair units is constructed so that they do not need wig tape or wig glue for attachment. Our 100% Remy human hair strands are hand-tied into this mesh to mimic the natural scalp and give the appearance of hair growing from the roots.

Mono top wigs are a favourite for many hairpiece users who look for durability and comfort. The see-through material of the monofilament human hair wigs makes your scalp visible through the base, giving it a seamless look. This allows for greater versatility in styling the wig in any direction, making them suitable for individuals with sensitive scalps or those undergoing medical treatments that cause hair loss. The sheer material used in monofilament wigs allows for better airflow to the scalp, resulting in increased breathability, which is excellent for people with oily or sweaty scalps.

Monofilament lace front wigs give a realistic hairline to those experiencing thinning hair, while the human hair mimics the natural direction of hair growth, which provides the free-flowing movement and feel of natural hair, enhancing the wearer's confidence and style.

Monofilament human hair wigs are ideal if you are looking for durability, comfort, and natural-looking hairpieces. The cap can hold good hair density, giving you lush locks instantly. Their intricate construction and higher-quality materials make them an ideal choice for those experiencing hair loss in the parting line, thinning crown area, receding hairline, or significant hair loss.

The lifespan of a monofilament wig can vary depending on various factors, such as the quality of the wig, the care it receives, and how frequently it is worn. Generally, monofilament wigs are known for their durability and longevity compared to other types of wigs. With proper care and maintenance, a monofilament wig can typically last anywhere from 3 months to a year or even longer.
