10 Male Celebrities Who Suffered from Balding or Hair Loss

Posted by Superhairpieces on Mar 03, 2021

If you’re suffering from balding or hair loss, don’t fret — It can happen to just about anyone. Even the celebrities and actors you see on the television who seem to have impeccable hair and no issues whatsoever.

So with that said, Superhairpieces is taking a look at 10 male celebrities who have suffered or are currently suffering from balding or hair loss along with how they’re dealing with it. If you prefer video format, you can watch the following video:

#1: Matthew McConaughey

Known for his luscious locks today, it might surprise some to learn that Hollywood megastar Matthew McConaughey was dealing with a massively receding hairline in the late nineties. So how did he fix it? He claims he used a hair loss product called Regenix.

However, many skeptics believe this is a marketing ploy and what he really did was either get a really good hair transplant or he is using some form of hair system. You be the judge!

#2: Elon Musk

Even the world’s richest man in Elon Musk can’t avoid hair loss or invent a cure for that matter either. The founder of Tesla has become the poster boy for hair transplants as a viral image of him in his PayPal days show him with a deeply receding hairline as he is virtually bald.

Of course, you wouldn’t be able to tell if you looked at his hair today as the 49-year-old mogul underwent a perfect hair transplant and now has a full head of hair. It's so good that even Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, MD, a hair transplant specialist, couldn't tell at first glance. He even speculates Musk underwent two procedures which could have set him back over $20,000. Pocket change for him.

#3: Charlie Sheen

Former star of “Two And A Half Men” and once the highest paid actor in television, Charlie Sheen has long been rumored to be wearing a toupee or wig.

He is said to have denied these claims, but past images of himself in the media clearly show bald spots as well as a receding hairline on occasion. It’s natural for some to be in denial, but the hair system he is using is largely working as many people are so used to seeing him with hair and can’t fathom that he ever suffered from hair loss.

#4: Elton John

Elton John might have a full head of hair at the age of 73 today, but the legendary singer has had his fair share of hair issues in the past. He revealed that his hair was going at the age of 30 and that’s when he decided to get a hair transplant.

However, it was a failed transplant and he ended up having to wear dodgy wigs which drew plenty of unwanted attention with one writer at the time reporting he looked like he had a dead squirrel on his head.

Today, he is now wearing toupees and is very satisfied with how it looks on him. “Yes I am bald but I don’t like being bald and so I wear a toupee,” John said in a 2019 interview.

#5: Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson was just about every teenage girl’s dream when he starred in Twilight, but like many men worldwide, he, too, suffered from hair loss. However, he claimed it was due to overstyling and bleaching his hair as his hairline took a major hit while he also displayed bald patches on the side of his head.

Though it’s not clear how he dealt with it since — with some observers speculating he took the combination of medications, finasteride and minoxidil — there appears to be no more issues for the man set to play Batman next. If there’s one lesson to be learned? Don’t overstyle your hair.

#6: Jude Law

Jude Law showed that even the most handsome actors can suffer from male pattern baldness as he eventually became known for his receding hairline. Of course, the Briton was one of the very few who was still able to rock it.

However, he later displayed fuller hair with Men’s Health speculating that he underwent a Platelet Rich Plasma procedure. However, it’s more than possible he also underwent a regular hair transplant.

#7: Ashton Kutcher

For most of his acting career, Ashton Kutcher was long known for his long locks until he cut his hair short. However, he was dealing with hair issues as early as 25. In an appearance on Conan in 2018, the “That 70’s Show” star revealed his hairline was receding from the sides and this is evident in some pictures of the 43-year-old from back in the day.

So what did he do? He revealed he used Avodart — a medication also known as Dutasteride — for years but once he stopped, his hair loss began again. Luckily for Kutcher, he dealt with his hair loss early and once his hair goes completely, he claims he will rock it and not wear a toupee. Until then, he will be a baseball cap guy.

#8: Al Pacino

We’ve all become accustomed to seeing Al Pacino in his legendary gangster or mafia roles with just about perfect hair. However, even “The Godfather” can suffer from hair loss. In a 2009 interview with “Inside the Actors Studio,” Pacino openly admitted he suffered from hair loss and used wigs from time to time.

But given that he still looks amazing at his age of 80, we’re sure he’d look fine even without one today.

#9: Henry Cavill

Even Superman cannot escape hair loss. Henry Cavill’s receding hairline is even evident in the Superman movies and in media appearances if you compare it with pictures of himself when he was younger.

However, he is still able to pull it off largely because he still has thick hair and not to mention, his good looks. Will he end up going bald or look to a hair system in the future? We’ll just have to wait and see.

#10: Brendan Fraser

Brendan Fraser was known for his boyish looks and luscious locks in a number of roles, including “The Mummy” franchise among others. However, as he got older, he became a victim of hair loss with one particular image showing him badly balding from the top of his head due to severe hair thinning.

It is believed he has since rectified the issue with a hair transplant. Today at 52, his hair is in better shape though his hairline has receded a bit. And going by his Instagram, Fraser seems to be following the route of Kutcher by wearing hats more regularly.
