Rather than applying shampoo directly to the hair, fill a bowl with water and shampoo, then gently work it through the hair
Apply conditioner while the system sits on a styrofoam dummy head, covered with a plastic cap, for 5–10 minutes
Finish with the coldest rinse you're comfortable with; cold water seals the cuticle, locks in moisture, and helps the curl hold its shape.
