What is a permed hair system?
A permed hair system is a human hair system, hairpiece, toupee, wig, or hair replacement system chemically treated with a permanent hairstyle (perm hair) to create curls or waves for the most trendy men’s hairstyle in 2025.
What are the different types of perm hair you can get at Superhairpieces?

Superhairpieces offer various perm hair patterns in varying curl sizes, with waves and spirals ranging from 12 mm to 32 mm (12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 22mm, 25mm, 28mm, 32mm).
The smaller the number, the tighter the curls.
Example:
- 25mm for wavy hair
- 22mm for something in between wavy and curly
- 18mm for tight curly bounce
- 12mm for extra-tight spirals

How long does a perm last?
Like any other chemical treatment for your hair, such as straightening, smoothing, or even hair colouring, it is called a permanent treatment despite lasting for roughly six months. However, good results heavily depend on how well you take care of it.
In case of a permed hair system, the perm can last as long as your system lasts, depending on your maintenance and regular care.
Being a curly hairpiece for men, they need added attention with some TLC, much like natural curls.
What can you expect when you get your freshly permed hair system?

So you've got your new permed hair system and are excited to open the box and try your new look, but your enthusiasm soon fades when you realize that the kind of curls you asked for are not what you got!
Hold on. It's not a mistake! Do not panic! Trust the process.
Before you go full blast on your favourite hair system provider, it is essential for you to understand the results of a permed hair system and what to expect.
Your toupee or wig has undergone a chemical process that fundamentally altered its structure. It needs time and the proper care to settle into its new form while maintaining its health and bounce.
Understanding what to expect during those crucial first few hours or days can make the difference between loving your new curls and dealing with damaged, frizzy hair.
Whether this is your first hair system or you're experienced but new to perms, understanding the results makes a world of difference.
Understanding The Results Of A Perm Hair Service
One major thing to remember when you receive your new permed hair system for men is that freshly permed hair initially looks quite different from the curl or wave pattern you ordered.
But you will get precisely what you asked for.
Step 1: When Your Permed Hair System Arrives
To ensure a strong wave or curl, we wash and dry the system, then add the chemical and rods and let it sit for a few hours/day as required. After removing the rods, we do not brush the unit before shipping out the hair system.
Typically, dry packaged hair can make the curl look different. When you unbox the curly hair system for men, you may see tight, big perms that look nothing like the kind of perm you wanted.
However, this is not the final look of the permed hair system.
Step 2: Wet & Comb Your Permed Hair System
We wash, perm, and let your system dry for 48 hours so you can wet and brush it immediately, saving you time and effort.
When receiving your perm hair system, please wet it (do not wash), condition it, and comb the system (with a wide-tooth comb) before analyzing the hair.
At this point, your perm hair system will get a more natural wave.
Note: You can lightly mist with water or scrunch if needed, but no full washing. The direct water pressure can weigh down your curls at the crown and flatten them before they've fully set.
Step 3: Hair cut & styling

If you only opted for a perm service, this step does not give you the final result. Post cutting and styling, the cut and dried hair shows more natural results, and you get the curls you are looking for.
If you opt for our perm, cut, and style service, you will get the immediate results you want after step 2.
Just Got a Perm? Here's What You Need to Know
Guide on how to take care of your permed hair system:
1. Post-Perm Care:
- Avoid washing with shampoo: Wait 48-72 hours before washing your hair system with shampoo.
- Gentle handling: Avoid rough brushing or pulling the hair.
- Avoid chemical treatments: Refrain from coloring your permed hair.
2. Washing and Styling:

Gentle shampooing:
Use a wig-friendly, gentle shampoo to wash your hair.
Conditioning:
Do not skip the conditioner and leave-in-conditioner steps.
Styling:
Pat dry with a microfiber towel—no rubbing! Use a diffuser when drying your hair with a hairdryer, and avoid drying your curls completely. Always use curly hair products for more defined curls.
Start Light Styling:-
- Begin using alcohol-free, water-based styling products
- Apply products with your fingers, gently scrunching upward
- Avoid brushes and wide-tooth combs, which can disrupt the curl pattern
Avoid aggressive styling:
Be gentle when brushing or combing your permed hair to minimize frizz and damage.
3. Expect Some Changes
For the first few days to about a week, you can expect:
- The curls will likely relax slightly from the initial tight pattern
- This is normal and actually desirable for a more natural look
- Some shedding might occur—this is typical with any new hair system
Precautions:
-
Avoid pools or hot tubs for a week
-
Never use hot water on your permed or curly hair system
-
No heat styling for a week
-
Wide-tooth combs are your new best friend when your hair is wet
-
Avoid brushes - The more you brush or run your fingers through, the bigger your hair gets.
-
Condition, condition, condition! Chemically treated hair, especially perm hair, is always thirsty and needs moisture to look tamed.
Getting a perm is a major hair transformation that can leave you with gorgeous, bouncy curls or waves.
Kudos on your fresh new look! We know you're probably still admiring yourself in every reflective surface you pass (and honestly, we don't blame you!).
