The 7 best wig glues for your hair replacement system

Posted by Superhairpieces on May 27, 2021

Even the best hair system will count for nothing if it’s not attached properly or using the best quality of wig glue or liquid adhesives.

That is why Superhairpieces has provided this list of the seven best wig glues for your hair replacement system so you’ll never need to worry about your unit falling off or your sensitive skin getting damaged.

Note: These are not in any order.

Ghost Bond Glue

# Ghost Bond Classic

Ghost Bond is one of the most recognizable and trusted brands of wig glue on the market today. The Classic version, in particular, lasts two to four weeks and includes features such as invisible bonding and being water-based with built-in heat, humidity and sweat busters.

Additionally, it is easy to clean and ideal for those with regular skin with less oil or moisture. They are only meant to be used on poly or lace material.

# Ghost Bond Phantom

The Ghost Bond Glue Phantom is similar to the Classic in almost every way. The only difference is the Classic can tend to turn somewhat yellow depending on certain conditions such as whether the wearer has oily skin — resulting in an oily scalp — or if the unit is exposed to ultraviolet light. As a result, the glue might be visible through the base.

The Phantom, on the other hand, remains clear even after two weeks thanks in part to a color correction formula that maintains a clear color and provides extended wearing. It is particularly ideal for those who have excessive oily skin and/or are exposed to a lot of moisture. Like the Classic, the Phantom is only meant to be used on poly or lace material.

# Ghost Bond XL

Like the aforementioned versions of the Ghost Bond Glue, the Ghost Bond XL is similar in most qualities and should only be used on poly or lace material. What makes the XL unique is that it has super moisture control, making it the best choice of wig adhesive for those who have very excessive oily skin or perspire frequently while wearing a wig.

This can be whether they perspire more than the average person, are in more humid areas or for those who are regularly active or play sports.

Max Adhere 360

Another great option for your hair replacement system is the water-based and latex free Adhere 360° by MAX Adhesives. It is an extended-wear bonding adhesive for full head bond attachment for skin grafts as well as lace units to the scalp and can hold for three to four weeks.

It's also waterproof so it's a great choice for athletes as well as wearers from warmer climates while it's easy to clean and dries clear for an invisible bond.

Note: The above glues are all water-based copolymer glues. The white color glue should dry clear in about 7 minutes. We recommend two layers of coating.

Mity Tite Glue

Moving away from Ghost Bond, there’s also Mity Tite Glue which is designed for touch-ups on permanent soft bonds which means you can easily apply more layers if needed. It lasts just a week but has a moderate hold, making it a good option for those who are active or playing sports.

In addition, it is acrylic waterproof and when used with geo bonds, can last up to three to four weeks. It can be used on poly material but with lace material, it shouldn’t be directly applied on the scalp. Instead, use a knot sealer or scalp protector first before applying it.

KP Pro Bond

The KP Pro Bond is another good choice for keeping your hair systems in palace. It is a silicone bonding adhesive that lasts two to four weeks. It is easy to clean, time-effective and ideal for playing sports and other physical activities.

Like the Mity Tite Glue, it can be used on poly material but with lace material, a knot sealer or scalp protector should be used on the scalp first before application.

Ultra Hold Glue

Another popular choice among hair system wearers is the Ultra Hold glue. It is an acrylic waterproof adhesive that can last two to three weeks. It provides maximum hold and is also clear and non-yellowing after it’s applied on the scalp.

Like the previous glue, it can be used on poly material but with lace material, a knot sealer or scalp protector should be used on the scalp first before application.

Disclaimer: If your skin might have an allergic reaction to these glues or adhesives, it is best to conduct a patch test first or consult your doctor before applying it on your scalp.
